The Netflix/Marvel collab adds another show to
its rapidly growing catalogue with the upcoming Punisher. Thanks to positive
reception from his turn as Frank Castle/The Punisher in season 2 of Dare Devil,
Jon Bernthal returns as the title character and is out for effing vengeance.
The Punisher is based on the Marvel
Comics character of the same name and is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
(MCU), sharing continuity with the films and other television series of the
franchise. The trailer debuted yesterday and if it is anything to go by, it
promises everything that was teased in DD season 2 and then some more. I
especially like the way the theme song to the trailer is meshed with all the
violence going on i.e. reloading, shooting at bad guys and blowing stuff up.
Marvel's The Punisher will be out
this October..till then we can drool all over this trailer. Then again, there
is that off-chance it turns out like that immortal iron flop…so why not add a
little bit of prayers while we drool.
