The Galaxy Note 8 is aimed at people who want to do bigger
things, and it seems India is chuck full of such people because despite being released about
2 weeks ago in India, it has not only seen outstanding reception, it has
already gone on to bag one prestigious award.
It won the ‘Gadget of the Year’
award at the inaugural India Mobile Congress (IMC), 2017. Though this comes as
no surprise seeing as Samsung is arguably India’s biggest and most trusted
smartphone brand which literally has a phone for everyone (as far as prices go).
In acceptance of the award, Samsung India’s Senior Vice
President of Mobile Business Mr. Asim Warsi said
“At Samsung, we believe in inspiring the world and bringing meaningful innovation to help make lives better. With the launch of Galaxy Note8, we have further strengthened our leadership in the premium smartphone segment in India and this prestigious award bears testimony to our efforts. Our ear to ground approach led by innovative technologies across product and service categories have made Samsung a popular choice amongst consumers and it is a great honour to be bestowed upon with this recognition,”
It is nice to see
Samsung rise above all that Note 7 let down and restore faith in the hearts of
its fans with the Galaxy Note8 (which had a lot to make up for).
With the Note 8, consumers get a big, immersive Infinity
Display, an IP68 certified device/S-Pen to communicate in more personal ways,
and Samsung’s first foray into Dual Camera terrain with dual Optical Image
Stabilization (OIS) to capture stunning photos in all conditions.
Although equally raved about on this side of the Atlantic,
the Galaxy Note 8 is yet to bag any awards…though I don’t doubt they will come.
At the time of posting, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 retails for as low as NGN
365k in local stores.
