Game of Thrones cast salaries will make your jaw drop

We all get so caught up in the life and times of the people that have come to make up the ones we love to love in Westeros and those we absolutely hate that we often forget that these guys are actors and it is their job to sell us a/the story.

And as you get paid a fortune at the end of the month? They also get paid albeit per episode. In fact, Game of Thrones is so good that it has managed to eclipse the previous record held by Jennifer Aniston and co. for their lucrative $1 million per episode for the final seasons of Friends. Without further ado, here is the salary (in US not Westerian dollars) of some of the major cast members of Game of Thrones and just so its out there, i do a mean dragon and Dire Wolf impression should CGI ever get too expensive.

Maisie Williams 20yrs : $1.1M  (NGN398M) per episode

 Arya Stark is the younger daughter of Ned and Catelyn Stark, who preside over Winterfell. We suspect she may be a lesbian. We do not necessarily have a problem with this, just suspect her father, were he alive still would be heartbroken and driven to behead himself if he ever got to find out. Ned only saw things in black and white you see.

Isaac Hempstead 18yrs: $500k (NGN 182M) per episode

Brandon Stark, typically called "Bran", is Ned and Catelyn's second son. Liam Cunningham 56yrs: $300k (NGN 108M) per episode

Davos Seaworth is a former smuggler also known as the Onion Knight, a name he got from helping Stannis, during the siege of Storm's End. Storm's End was under siege by Mace Tyrell, but Davos managed to slip past them in the black of knight, with a cargo full of Onions, which was enough to help the men until Eddard Stark arrived to lift the siege. Because of the deed of Davos, Stannis forgave all his former smuggler crimes and made him a knight. That was when Davos took the name Seaworth. He used to be a trusted advisor to Stannis Baratheon but now to Jon Snow.

Nathalie Emmanuel 28yrs: $100k (NGN 36M) per episode

Missandei One of the "Peaceful People" from Naath, Missandei was kidnapped and enslaved by the Astapori slavers at a young age. She must be very peaceful indeed….accepting $100k per episode

 

Conleth Hill 52yrs: $300k (NGN 108M) per episode

also known as "the Spider” or "Master of Whisperers" He has a network of spies throughout KIng's Landing known as "little birds”. He is liked by few and trusted by fewer. The jury is still out on who is the best schemer between he, Lord Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish and Tyrion Lannister.

Gwendoline Christie 38yrs: $100k (NGN 36M) per episode

Brienne is the only child of Lord Selwyn of Tarth. She is very tall and muscular and was taunted all her life because of it. The only person to have slapped king Joffrey square in the face and gotten away with it. Hence the nick name from the Loft “the king b**ch slapper*

Nikolaj Coster Waldau 47yrs: $2.6M (NGN 942M) per episode

Jaime “King Slayer” Lannister is the eldest son of Lord Tywin and Lady Joanna Lannister. He is twin brother to Queen Cersei and older brother to Tyrion. Despite having a close (emphasis on close) relationship with his sister, he is still a fan favorite. Brienne thinks he’s cool also. That is weird.

Lena Headey 43yrs: $2.6M (NGN 942M) per episode

Cersei is the daughter of Lord Tywin Lannister, the richest man in all of Westeros and the late Joanna Lannister. She is the wife of King Robert Baratheon and as such is the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.

She is twin sister to Jaime, with whom she maintains a very close relationship (emphasis on very close). She is elder sister to Tyrion. She is beautiful, cunning, and ambitious and will do anything for her offspring Joffrey, Myrcella, and Tommen. In other words, she is not one to be f**ked with.

A little bonus to snack on; at the start of Game of thrones, Sean Bean Eddard ‘Ned’ Stark, whom was the then most famous actor in the series was being paid $150k per episode. Convert the above salaries to the Nigerian Naira ($1m is about NGN360M) you’d find that with even $100k, plenty of “banana” can still fall on you.
