If the Defenders is an apology for Iron Fist, then apology accepted.

I binge watched all 8 episodes of Marvels Defenders over the weekend and I have to "hand" it to Netflix. It almost makes me forget the poorly put together mess that was the Iron fist, but no, if for nothing else, I need it to know who is who or to serve as a reference point.
To put it simply, the Defenders is basically a small screen version of the Avengers. Complete with a billionaire playboy (Danny Rand na small pikin). Consisting of the Daredevil aka Devil of Hell's Kitchen, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and the Immortal Ironfist (if you must know, that is a chronological order of which Netflix outed their individual shows and also a chronological order of how I rate the shows...from A for awesome to F for WTF), the Defenders is a reminder, Netflix still knows how to put a proper spin on a super hero tale (I started doubting after i saw Ironfist) and at this point, I'm hoping a lot more Marvel work...or DC even comes to the streaming service.



I like the way each hero initially going about their individual business/demon chasing, through a series of events, come to realize they have a common enemy, so everyone, in the famous words of Sticks "gets their shit together". From Jessica Jones surprisingly still having a business and customers/patrons considering her Nasty treatment of them which basically sets up the events of this show after one customer shows up at her doorstep. To Daredevil. After the events of the second season of DD, he is conflicted and considering retirement from his vigilante days (a trope already overplayed in super hero movies and TV shows but we forgive you Netflix) until a chance meeting sets him in JJ's path. Then Ironfist...the Immortal Ironfist taking himself way more seriously than we have ever taken him is investigating a group that employs kids to do their dirty work gets a beat down from LC Because Cage is on an unappreciated, no paying path trying to keep the kids in the streets from making bad life choices.

All said and done, Marvels the Defenders is well put together and a great watch. The end of Episode 3 just shot up to one of my all time favorite TV moments ever (TV moments filled with the likes of Hardhome from Game of Thrones S5E8).
If you are not familiar with all the individual shows of all 4 heroes, try watching Daredevil season 1 and 2, Jessica Jones...first 4 episodes of Luke Cage, completely skip Iron Fist or just watch the trailer (because lets face it, him still dey learn work), then,  you are good to go.
