Every year sees a trending feature added to smartphones, 2017 I'd say is the year of Dual cameras

So it is the middle of 2017and everyone is aware that every year, as far as consumer tech goes, there is a trend that one phone manufacturer introduces and other OEM’s scramble to imitate.
From the finger print sensor that Apple kicked in, to the IP 68 rating/water proofing trend that Sony started. Then there’s that disappearing 3.5mm port that Apple swears will become a thing. Need I mention those curved edges that has become a staple of Samsung flagships Although seeing as they are the only ones on the curved edge train, one wonders whether other OEMs are just dis-interested in the curves or wherever Samsung mines the glass (Dragon-stone) or/and what they use (Dragon-glass) is top secret.

Can you guess what this year’s trend has been? Pat yourself in the back if you said dual cameras. First introduced commercially by HTC on the One M8, dual cameras have become a must have feature of 2017 smartphones looking to be taken seriously. Bar the awesome looking infinity displayed Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 plus, I’d say every major OEM (and even some budget friendly ones) have slapped on dual cameras to their phones (though, plus the front facing camera, technically that is tri cameras). From Tecno, Gionee, Huawei, Apple, LG, Nokia, Samsung on the Note 8 etc. Everyone is getting in on the dual camera action. Their implementation of the dual cameras might be different e.g. Apple has one normal camera and one optical zoom, LG G6 had one normal camera and one super wide angle zoom, Tecno has…what Tecno has, ultimately, na two cameras dey the phone and nothing says “welcome to 2017” like dual cameras on a smartphone.

I think 2018 is going to be the year of wireless charging and zero bezels, how about you?
